Cavaliere del Lavoro Domenico Bosatelli, Founder and Honorary President of GEWISS, passed away on the night of 13 June 2022 in his home, peacefully surrounded by the affection of his wife Giovanna and his sons Fabio, Luca and Matteo.
The management and all the employees of the POLIFIN companies - GEWISS, CHORUS LIFE, COSTIM, CHORUSTYLE DESIGN - mourn for him, moved by the pain of the family members, in the memory of the unforgettable and visionary entrepreneur.
His entrepreneurial vision, his innovative spirit and his vocation for excellence will forever represent an example for all of us and will guide us in the pursuit of future GEWISS successes with equal passion, determination and conviction.
Born in Alzano Lombardo (BG) on 3 December 1933, Domenico Bosatelli founded Gewiss in 1970 on the revolutionary intuition of the use of technopolymer in electrical systems. Thanks to an entrepreneurial vision focused on development as a constant in management and innovation, he led the company to international success, with over 1,600 employees and a presence in more than 100 countries around the world.
He has also created CHORUS LIFE, a city model for the third millennium to revitalize the suburbs, placing the quality of life and the well-being of the person at the center. Values and themes that are also a reference of the new business project CHORUSTYLE DESIGN.
Domenico Bosatelli was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro of the Italian Republic on 2 June 1994 by President Oscar Luigi Scalfaro. In 2003 he received the Honoris Causa Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bergamo. In addition to having received the Honorary Citizenship of Alzano Lombardo, in 2018 he was awarded the Diploma Honoris Causa of Expert in Mechatronics by the Paleocapa Industrial Technical Institute of Bergamo. In December 2021 he received the Civic Merit from the Municipality of Bergamo.
During his entrepreneurial career he has also held national and international positions, actively contributing to the growth and development of the electrotechnical sector.
