ChorusLife

Inaugurated in November 2024, ChorusLife is a true “prototype” of urban regeneration: an innovative model integrating environmental, economic and social sustainability to transform a former industrial area into a modern smart district. Born from the vision of Cavalier Domenico Bosatelli and designed by Joseph di Pasquale, the new Bergamo neighborhood is designed to foster socialization, daily well-being and intergenerational cohesion through a rich offering of spaces and services for all age groups.

The impressive project, which required seven cranes, has reclaimed and redeveloped 70,000 square meters of land, extending its impact to 150,000 square meters through major infrastructure and urbanization works. Among the most notable developments are the long-awaited overpass of the ring road from the Seriana Valley and the connection with Via Serassi, which was realized through investments far more significant than those foreseen by the Program Agreement. The upcoming construction of the new Bergamo Sports Hall is also planned.

ChorusLife includes a residence with 74 apartments, the city’s first build-to-rent project, a four-star superior hotel with 107 rooms under the prestigious Radisson brand, an 8,000-square-meter Urban SPA set to open soon, more than 10,000 square meters of commercial and dining areas and a series of piazzas featuring unique arches that encourage shared social experiences. At the heart of this innovative urban district lies the majestic ChorusLife Arena, a 6,500-seat venue covered by a “vibrant skin” of thousands of aluminum tiles with a spectacular shimmering effect. This architectural solution, certified by the Polytechnic University of Milan and patented in collaboration with manufacturer Gualini – part of the COSTIM group – was entrusted to the international giant ASM Global, making the Arena a visual and functional icon for world-class events, performances and conferences.

GEWISS technology and solutions for ChorusLife

GEWISS played a key role in this complex transformation, contributing to the project with solutions from all its Business Units: Installation, Energy, Building, Lighting and Mobility. This comprehensive approach has transformed ChorusLife into a virtuous model where every technological detail is designed to ensure sustainability, efficiency and a high-quality urban experience.

Outdoor areas, green spaces and apartments

For outdoor lighting, the choice fell on Urban [O]3 modular lighting systems — customized here with cameras and antennas — which ensure energy efficiency and security, as well as spotlights placed in green areas and STRIP SQ+ LED strips by Performance iN Lighting on the ceiling.

In the apartments, the combination of ChoruSmart weatherproof plates, Home & Building PRO panels, and the ChoruSmart Lux civil series ensures seamless integration between high-tech design, performance, and user-friendliness. For the private garden rooftops, two different families of SPILLO MINI spotlights by Performance iN Lighting create the perfect accent lighting, enhancing the landscape while ensuring uniform light distribution, even in the case of potential LED diode inefficiencies.

The arena and the hotel

The lighting of the ChorusLife Arena has been entrusted to Smart [PRO] 2.0 LED projectors, specifically designed to deliver top-tier performance in sports facilities and large outdoor environments. The Sky Box is enhanced with ChoruSmart plates and highly reliable distribution boards installed in the technical rooms. GEWISS technology is also crucial in the parking areas, where Smart [3] LED waterproof polycarbonate luminaires ensure maximum energy efficiency, durability, and ease of installation.

For the hotel’s interiors, GEWISS has provided advanced solutions for system control and intelligent environment management. In the guest rooms, the ChoruSmart KNX civil series enables smart automation, paired with ChoruSmart ThermoICE thermostats and refined Lux plates, ensuring an elegant and efficient experience. In the hotel kitchen, energy distribution is managed by the Q-DIN series with IEC 309 HP sockets, ensuring maximum safety and reliability in high-intensity operational environments. The communal areas are equipped with SL787+ and PLATO 600 MP lighting fixtures by Performance iN Lighting, providing optimal illumination and contributing to welcoming and efficient environments. The ChoruSmart Home & Building Pro system ensures advanced smart home management throughout the hotel, while the ChoruSmart ONE plates, provided in white, black, and titanium, add a touch of modernity and stylistic versatility to the spaces.

Public and private parking areas

In the parking areas of ChorusLife, both public and private, GEWISS has implemented a state-of-the-art infrastructure that prioritizes energy efficiency, safety, and ease of use. The energy distribution is managed through CVX 630 and CVX 1600 electrical panels, modular and robust solutions that ensure maximum protection and reliability for the entire system. BRN and BRX cable trays have been installed for cable management and support, providing durability and security even in the most complex environments. The BRM system, available with or without protection, optimizes cable routing and organization, reducing clutter and facilitating maintenance.

The parking lighting is provided by over 6,000 Smart [3] luminaires, managed via the KNX protocol. This intelligent lighting solution ensures uniform and energy-efficient illumination, adjusting brightness levels based on actual space usage to optimize energy consumption. For power distribution in charging stations and service areas, an extensive range of devices has been installed, including IEC 309 HP sockets, 67 IB interlocked sockets, and 68 Q-DIN distribution boards, designed to withstand high humidity and mechanical stress, ensuring reliable performance even in demanding environments.

Finally, embracing a sustainable mobility approach, ChorusLife’s parking facilities feature a comprehensive electric vehicle charging infrastructure: forty-four JOINON I-CON EVO Wallboxes for daily charging and six JOINON I-FAST 60 kW fast-charging stations for on-the-go users needing a quick recharge.
